My boys are 8 and 6 and we took out this album from the library. The six year old twins loved it, my eight year old felt he was too cool for some of the songs but liked it overall. Favorites are pea on my plate and little sister. They had less patience for the slow mushy songs but there are only one or two of these. The songs about playing for the love of the game and wearing a bike helmet have positive messages without being preachy. I find myself singing the songs out loud even when the kids are not around, and the lyrics are hysterical. So glad to find an antidote to Barney & Raffi! If you like this kind of kids' music, check out works by Trout Fishing in America and John McCutcheon. Children's music does NOT have to be painful!

We love this DC! There is no way to suppress a smile (even a laugh) while listening to the fun songs! Harley must surely be a kid at heart to have such an understanding of a kid's perspective. Our favorites are "There's a Pea on My Plate" and "I Love My Sister," but all of the selections are great! And I cannot help but have a tear in my eye everytime I hear "Moving Day." Harley has a special way of dealing with kid's emotions, like happiness, sadness, frustration, anger, and anxiety. A definite keeper and great gift idea!

My second graders couldn't get enough of the songs on "There's a Pea on my Plate." It's one CD that I didn't mind playing over and over again. It's hilarious and educational, too!
